Why We Won
This year our council has been very busy with countless hours of volunteering. Activities included Ladies Night (done to demonstrate our appreciation of member wives), Seminarian Night, Ukrainian Night and hosting two family day events for our Parish, one in February and one in September. Our Knights participate in all ministries of Holy Family Parish as well as having our choir participate at the 5 pm Mass on the first Saturday of every month. Community activities included participating in St. Albert’s Rock’n August festivities (one half of net donations go to Canadian diabetes), and twice a month feeding homeless seniors at the Operation Friendship Senior Society in Edmonton. Our Council also donated to pro-life via the sale of our Pro-life calendar sales. During Lent our Council collected donations for the Kurt Fairburn family of St. Albert. Please see the following:
Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

A father, with a wife and of four children, was laid off from his job in November and subsequently diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrigs disease). Time is not on this young man’s side (he is only 35 years old). On March 25
On March 25th , the Knights organized and prepared a spaghetti dinner for over 300 parishioners, (entry by free will donation) with a silent auction to help raise funds for the family. Council 10014 also collected monetary donations from members of the parish, at Masses on the previous two Sundays. Council 10014 was able to donate close to $24,000 to the family who were extremely grateful to the Knights, the parish and the community for their generous and overwhelming support.
