Special Olympics Alberta (SOA) celebrated her 50 years of empowerment hosting a Winter Games in Calgary from February 08 to February 10, 2019.

At the opening ceremony at WinSport, Canada Olympic Park, she emphasised the theme of the Winter Games to be Strength, Sport & Spirit; and announced over 800 athletes across 25 communities in Alberta participated.  The Sport played including Alpine Skiing, 5-Pin Bowling, Cross Country, Curling, Figure Skating, Floor Hockey, Snowshoe and Speed Skating which were taken place in 5 locations in Calgary.  The closing ceremony was held at Genesis Centre NE and all teams were heading home by coach afterward.
